MASBATE CITY (PIA)—The office here of Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) will be closed indefinitely after one of its employees tested positive for protein of coronavirus that causes COVID-19.
In a statement on Thursday, October 8, PhilHealth Regional Vice President Orlando D. IΓ±igo Jr. said the temporary closure of the Local Health Insurance Office (LHIO) would ensure the safety of their employees and clients.
The employee has already been swabbed and isolated, he added.
“We are waiting for (the) final result of RT-PCR swab test to determine (the) date of resumption of office transactions,” IΓ±igo said.
IΓ±igo said the employee’s officemates were also placed under “strict home quarantine.”
In the interim, all LHIO employees will be working from home to “provide continuous service to our members,” he said.
IΓ±igo said updating of records and enrollment of patients may be made through the billing or PhilHealth sections of health care facilities.
The LHIO has also created a google link where employers can send the soft copies of documents for updating or enrollment of their employees, he added.
To date, Masbate province has 133 COVID-19 cases, with 129 recoveries and one death. (PIA-5/Masbate)
