DATU ODIN SINSUAT, Maguindanao, Oct. 21-- This year’s 33rd foundation anniversary of the 6th Infantry (KAMPILAN) Division will be highlighted by on-field activities dubbed as ‘JTFC/6ID KAMPILAN Buddy Challenge 2020.
The event which kicked off Mionday at the 602nd Brigade covered court in Carmen, North Cotabato is participated by the different units under the Joint Task Force Central, to wit: 6IB, 90IB, 7IB, 33IB, 34IB, 37IB, 38IB, 40IB, 57IB, 5SFBN, 1Mech Bn, 2Mech Bn, MBLT2, MBLT5, TOG12, 12RCDG, and the three Division Reconnaissance Companies (61DRC, 62DRC and 63DRC).
Major General Juvymax R. Uy, commander of Joint Task Force Central and 6th Infantry Division initiated the conduct of this year’s anniversary outside the camp to encourage stakeholders in different brigades and battalions within the area of responsibility to witness the event.
One officer representative with the rank of 2nd Lieutenant to Major and one enlisted personnel with the rank of Private to Staff Sergeant will compose the pair or the buddy of each participating contingent.
‘JTFC/6ID Buddy Challenge 2020’ (Day 1)
The opening ceremony of ‘JTFC/6ID Buddy Challenge 2020’s kick-off was presided over by North Cotabato Governor Nancy Catamco.
The 1st Leg of the competition commenced through ‘Endurance Firing’ to followed by Map Reading/Land Navigation. Meanwhile, Mayor Roncal ‘Toto’ Montilla of Tacurong City spearheaded the program in the city hall on the same day.
‘JTFC/6ID Buddy Challenge 2020’ (Day 2)
Yesterday, the competing teams were ferried to Isulan, Sultan Kudarat. Participants performed ruck march from the starting line at Isulan Provincial Capitol with Governor Suharto “Teng” Mangudadatu.
The participants then proceeded to Datu Abdullah Sangki (DAS) municipality by bike wherein they were met by Mayor Datu Pax Ali Mangudadatu who led a program at DAS Municipal Hall to highlight the KAMPILAN Buddy Challenge as well as the remarkable outcomes of JTF Central and 6th ID through the synchronized intelligence, operations and civil-military operations efforts of the Command in order to maintain the peace in his town.
Security forces were deployed to secure the areas where the competing teams passed through. From there, Gov. Bai Mariam Mangudadatu of Maguindanao presided a program, together with Maj. Gen. Uy. The competition on military stakes subsequently followed with the assembly and disassembly of these firearms: M16 A1, 1911 pistol and M14 Rifle.
‘JTFC/6ID Buddy Challenge 2020’ (Day 3)
On the third day of the challenge, the participants will depart from the Provincial Capitol going to 6DCAU Training Base in Taviran, Datu Odin Sinsuat (DOS), Maguindanao for the Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TC3) with Mayor Cheryl Mary Rose Ann F. Lu-Sinsuat as guest of honor and speaker (GOHAS). Then, the participants will proceed to 6ID Firing Range for pistol endurance firing with Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) Chief Minister Al Haj Murad Ebrahim as GOHAS. Maj. Gen. Uy will also attend the program.
‘JTFC/6ID Buddy Challenge 2020’ (Day 4)
The 4th and final leg of the challenge will be held on October 22. The participants will hurdle an obstacle course at the 6th Division Training School. Afterwards, the competing troops will do a rucksack run/march going to Cotabato City Hall (People’s Palace) via Barangay Semba. Mayor Frances Cynthia Guiani-Sayadi will be the guest of honor and speaker for the closing ceremony of the Kampilan Buddy Challenge.
Meanwhile, announcement of winners will be on October 24 during the culminating program at the 6th ID Grandstand, Camp Siongco, Awang, DOS, Maguindanao.
The 33rd foundation anniversary of the KAMPILAN is anchored on the theme, “Tatlumpu’t Tatlong Taon na Makataong Serbisyo kaisa ang Mamamayan tungo sa Kapayapaan, Kasaganahan, at Kaunlaran ng Timog Sentral Mindanao.” (DPAO-6ID)
