DILG seeks more support for LGUs’ isolation mngt

CAMIGUIN, Oct. 7 (PIA)—With the implementation of Bayanihan 2 to Heal as One Act, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) requested various national line agencies to boost the local government units’ (LGUs) capability in managing their isolation units.

“We are talking about this in the Cabinet. With Bayanihan 2, it is time to help our LGUs because DSWD, DOLE, DA have funds. This time, we will concentrate support directly to those who contracted the virus, like support for their meals,” DILG Sec. Eduardo AΓ±o said during the Network Briefing News, October 7 with Communication Sec. Martin Andanar.

AΓ±o further cited that working individuals, who were placed under quarantine or isolation, would definitely skip their work thus, he asked the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) to create a program that could support these employees.

DILG also targets to strengthen the LGUs’ Barangay Health Emergency Response Teams (BHERTs) to ensure that they are functioning and are able to give the necessary service to the public especially at this time of pandemic.

The Department of Health (DOH) and DILG also push for equipping BHERTs with proper protective gear and other requirements from hygiene to infection control.

Handling isolation in Camiguin

In Camiguin, 64 isolation units or 603 beds are currently handled by the 56 barangays and 5 towns. These are all operational and based on reports, DILG Camiguin Provincial Director Rhona Abadilla said they have not received complaints on administering returning individuals from the LGUs.

For his part, Gov. Jurdin Jesus Romualdo said, “Sabot lang sa barangay/LGU ug pamilya sa locally stranded individuals. Kasagara pud sa overseas Filipino workers o returning overseas Filipinos (ROFs) naa sa hotel ga-stay ug sila gabayad.”

(There is an agreement with the barangay/LGU and the families of locally stranded individuals in providing the food for those who were sent to isolation units. Also, most of the overseas Filipino workers o returning overseas Filipinos (ROFs) are staying in hotels and they are the ones who shoulder the payment)

So far, Romualdo said they have not encountered any problem in terms of handling returning individuals in their isolation units.

As of October 6, the province has recorded one COVID-19 positive case, who is an LSI from Quezon City. There are 335 persons with history of travel or exposure of COVID-19 of which 255 are from Mambajao, 25 from Mahinog, 12 from Guinsiliban, 7 from Sagay, and 36 from Catarman. (RTP/PIA10)

Kailangan mo lang palabasin na may ginagawa ka kahit wala.

Why are Filipinos known for their lack of reading comprehension?

Because according to most of them: "Well-mannered is better than well-educated" That's why most of the Filipinos never progress. It is because of the trash mindset.
