LEGAZPI CITY (PIA) – The regional office here of Department of Health (DOH5) has recorded 18 new recoveries from the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), bringing the total number of those who recuperated from the illness to 1,585 as of October 7.

The DOH-Bicol said Thursday the new recoveries are from Albay (6); Camarines Norte (5); Camarines Sur (5); Catanduanes (1); and Sorsogon (1).
"The fight against COVID-19 rests primarily in each individual action. Everyone should take the necessary precautions to protect themselves and others from contracting the virus," Dr. Ernie Vera, DOH director for Bicol, said in a statement.
The health department also said one new death was recorded in Albay, raising the death toll to 82.
Meanwhile, 11 of the 286 new test results received from two testing laboratories in the region were confirmed positive for COVID-19.
They are in Camarines Sur which had five of the new cases; Albay, two; Sorsogon, two; Catanduanes, one; and Masbate, one.
The cumulative confirmed cases in the region are now 2,015, at least 348 of which are active cases. (PIA-5/DOH-5)
