PCOO to launch 'Gramo Dos: Unipormado' anti-narco docu sequel

CALOOCAN CITY, Sept. 20 (PIA) -- The Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO), in partnership with the Radio Television MalacaΓ±ang (RTVM) and the Philippine National Police (PNP), will launch today the second documentary film about the anti-illegal drugs campaign of the Duterte administration entitled, "Gramo Dos: Unipormado" (Gram Two: Uniformed).

“As the problem of illegal drugs remains significant, even during a pandemic, we at the PCOO will continue to intensify our information dissemination against it," Presidential Comunications Secretary Martin Andanar said.

"However, we are in cognizance that our fight against COVID-19 remains to be the priority of the Duterte administration, which is why we continue to strengthen our mandate of informing the public about the government's responses, programs, and actions against the virus for us to heal and recover as one nation,” Andanar added.

The official emphasized that the release of the documentary film is relevant amid the pandemic, as illegal drug use and trade remain to be a problem, and informing the public about the relevant updates on the pandemic is the priority of PCOO.

Last year, PCOO launched its anti-narcotics documentary film "Gramo," focusing on the achievements and challenges faced by the anti-illegal drugs campaign of the Duterte administration.

It was showcased to the local and international communities to shed light on the real situation faced by local policemen every day, as they sacrifice their lives while performing their duty to put an end to the illegal hard drugs in the country.

Amid the COVID-19 crisis in the country, former PNP Chief General Archie Gamboa, for his part, revealed that the administration’s anti-illegal drugs campaign this year, from January 1 to June 4, resulted in the seizure of almost 900 kilograms of shabu (Methamphetamine), which has a street value of more than P6-billion.

"During the pandemic, surprisingly, a lot of illegal drugs are still retrieved. They are not ceasing. Although we have a theory that these were drugs that were not sold and just accumulated. So even in the time of pandemic, business still continues," Gamboa said.

Now, the 40-minute sequel "Gramo Dos: Unipormado" will feature the perspectives of the three (3) policemen in their line of duty, fighting against illegal drugs in the country.

“We created the sequel of Gramo to highlight that our law enforcers' lives are also at risk as the scourge of illegal drugs doesn't choose its victims. That's why we at the government continue to combat its proliferation, and to communicate the accurate narratives, for us to truly and collectively develop and progress as one nation," said PCOO Assistant Secretary JV Arcena for his part.

According to the PNP Directorate of Operations, from July 1, 2016 to June 23, 2020, there were already 52 policemen that were killed in drug-related operations, while 153 were wounded.

For PNP Chief Camilo Cascolan, the administration's campaign countering illegal drugs has positively changed the lives of Filipinos. "The battle now is perception. The way you look at it, we look at (Oplan) Double Barrel before as something that has changed the lives of Filipinos because basically, we have a President who really supports the PNP," he said.

"Gramo Dos: Unipormado" will be aired on PTV-4 and IBC-13 at 7:00 pm. The documentary will also be posted on the PCOO's social media pages and other affiliate pages. (PIA NCR)

Why are Filipinos known for their lack of reading comprehension?

Because according to most of them: "Well-mannered is better than well-educated" That's why most of the Filipinos never progress. It is because of the trash mindset.

How To Make A Country Worship You

Isang Pasasalamat

Sabi nila: “There’s always something to be thankful for.” Kaya ako din may sasabihin! 🀣✌️ Isang pasasalamat!
