AGLIPAY, Quirino, Aug. 12 (PIA)—The Quirino Police Provincial Office here has reported that two active members of the CPP-NPA-NDF under Samahang Propaganda and Militia ng Bayan Quirino-Nueva Vizcaya recently surrendered to police and military authorities at Barangay Disimungal, Nagtipunan.
Based on the press release issued by the QPPO, the two surrenderers are John o Vargas a.k.a. "Delfin,”21, single, farmer, lie-low regular member of KLG Quirino-Nueva Vizcaya, resident of Sitio Pulang Lupa, Barangay Disimungal, Nagtipunan and Jose Ladia a.k.a. "Kom-it, 58, married, farmer, CTG mass supporter/MB and a resident of Sitio Tabis, Barangay Anak, Nagtipunan.
The two addition to the previous surrenderers yielded to the 2nd Quirino Provincial Mobile Force Company under the leadership of the Force Commander, PLt Col Walter A Pasicolan, Nagtipunan Municipal Police Station, 1st QPFC, Quirino Police Provincial Office and Bravo Coy, 86 IB, Philippine Army, Intelligence Platoon, 52 MICO.
The two former members of the Communist Terrorist Groups (CTGS) surrendered one piece Garand Springfield rifle with defaced serial number and 29 pieces live ammunitions for M14.
Meanwhile, Quirino Police Provincial Director Colonel Renato B Mallonga said that the surrender of the CTGS is a result of their anti-insurgency campaign in line with the directive of President Rodrigo Duterte on the Implementation of Executive Order No. 70 otherwise known as Institutionalizing the Whole of Nation Approach in Attaining Exclusive and Sustainable Peace, Creating a National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict and Directing the Adoption of a National Peace Framework to address the root causes of insurgency to end local armed conflict in the countryside.
Police Colonel Mallonga has appealed to the remaining members of CPP-NPA NDF to avail the programs of the government saying that those who lay down their arms will be enrolled in the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP) which provides shelter, employment, and livelihood for the rebel returnees.
