DAVAO DEL NORTE, Aug. 13 (PIA) – Tagum Mayor, Allan Rellon, announced on August 3, during the launch of BIDA campaign in Tagum, the four P’s that the city encourages to practice in the fight against COVID19 amidst the rising number of cases.
The four P’s are letters with call to action that stand for “Pagpahibalo, Pagpahinumdom, Pagbadlung, and Pagsumbong (To inform, to remind, to reprimand, and to tell on someone)”.
Mayor Rellon stated that the four P’s came in mind when discussing the letter A of BIDA which stands for “Aksyon base sa tinuod nga impormasyon”.
“Naa tay four P’s sa fight against COVID19(Let’s go to Aksyon, I see that [letter] and the four P’s fit just right in there, the four P’s of Tagum. We have four P’s to fight against COVID19),” Rellon said.
He especially encouraged the people to practice the third P, Pagbadlung (to reprimand), to those who are not following the necessary health protocols, but he suggested to do so in a nice way.
“Pagbadlung pud mo in a nice way, sa tama nga pamaagi. Pagbadlung nga pasabot nga you care for the person. Lahi tong pagbadlung to hate the person. Gamit anang words nga nindot paminawon sa tao (I encourage you to reprimand in a nice way, in the right manner. Reprimand because you care for the person, not because you hate the person. Use words that are good to their ears),” he advised.
Rellon cited the rising number of COVID19 cases in the city as he discussed the compelling need to follow the core health protocols and to implement Tagum’s local version of four P’s in line with COVID-19 prevention.
On the day of BIDA Solusyon launch on Aug 03, Tagum City registered 43 positive cases of COVID-19, going up by 87 percent increase from just 23 COVID-19 positive cases logged on July 03.
He added that it is not enough to rely on just one strategy when fighting the spread of the virus, that it is important to apply the other different methods as well.
“Dili ta mag salig lang ug isa ka stratehiya, kay dapat mag evolve siya. Small things or big, daginuton nato na (Let’s not rely on just one strategy, it has to evolve. Small things or big, we will take from them),” Rellon said.
With the launch of BIDA campaign in Tagum, Mayor Allan Rellon announced the “full force” enforcement of health protocols against COVID19. (Jan Vincent Leuterio/PIA-XI/jmda)
