Because according to most of them: "Well-mannered is better than well-educated" That's why most of the Filipinos never progress. It is because of the trash mindset.

Pateros implements municipal-wide lockdowns on Sundays to curb COVID spread

CALOOCAN CITY, Aug. 10 (PIA) -- The Pateros Municipal Government has started implementing municipal-wide lockdown every Sunday to curb the spread of COVID-19 transmissions in the area.

This was disclosed by Mayor Miguel Ponce III when members of the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) dropped by for a visit over the weekend to review the implementation of policies against COVID-19 by the local government.

Under the lockdown, which is on top of the 15-day modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) implemented across Metro Manila, movement is very much restricted and aggressive COVID-19 testing is conducted.

IATF officials present include Department of National Defense (DND) Secretary Delfin N. Lorenzana, National Task Force COVID-19 (NTF COVID-19) Chief Secretary Carlito G. Galvez Jr., Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Undersecretary Emil K. Sadain, Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Undersecretary Rene Glen O. Paje, Department of Health (DOH) Director Gloria J. Balboa, and DILG Assistant Secretary for International Relations and Other Interior Concerns Marcelo C. Morales.

Presented during the meeting are the municipality’s contact tracing efforts, swab testing, and isolation of symptomatic and asymptomatic cases. The local government also reported its best practices. Mayor shared the efforts made to control the spread of the COVID-19 virus which include the recently approved ordinances on curfew, mandatory use of both face masks and face shields, and liquor ban.

On the other hand, IATF officials discussed strategies that the municipality can adopt to strengthen and complement its efforts against COVID-19. Balboa presented Zoning Containment Strategies that can serve as guidance to the Municipal Health Officers’ contact tracing team, while Galvez suggested the use of the Geographic Information System (GIS) to assess critical areas with COVID-19 patients. The use of the GIS is seen to help the municipality in the deployment of police enforcement in the COVID-19 populated areas.

The IATF also turned over protective personal equipment (PPE) to Ponce.

Concerns on the implementation of policies for the fight against COVID-19 were also tackled, such as the establishment of isolation centers for asymptomatic patients. In response, the IATF will provide isolation units to Pateros through coordination with the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) and Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA).

Additional manpower will also be provided to maintain peace and order, security, and to ensure adherence to health protocols. Sadain also pledged that the DPWH will aid in providing additional isolation facilities to Pateros in the next six months.

The visit ended with an inspection of Barangay Sta. Ana, where the IATF observed the response of the municipality in handling positive cases in the barangay. (PIA NCR)

Bakit Uto-Uto ang mga Pulahan?

Yung tipong habang tumitingin ka sa feed mo may nakita kang nag-share ng mga conspiracy theory. Bakit ba naeenganyo sila? Paniwalang paniwala sila. Basahin ang maikling kasagutan tungkol dito. It makes them feel special and different. It gives them a feeling of being better than others, of having their eyes opened to a 'truth' that others don't see. That's why some call non-believers 'sheeple.' I think it's similar to the feeling we get whenever we learn an obscure yet interesting piece of trivia. The thought of "No one else knows it!" I also think conspiracies appeal to the way humans think, especially now. A desire to search for patterns. There has to be reason and purpose for anything. But this is not right! I still blame the lack of the fundamental research skills that needs to be taught in school. I believe you get to have a full subject on your 4th year, but investigative skills and fact checking should be honed at a young age.

How To Make A Country Worship You
