CABARROGUIS, Quirino, Aug. 12 (PIA)—Governor Dakila Carlo E. Cua in his report last night via his Facebook page on the first COVID-19 positive case in the province has told the Quirinians to avoid resorting to panic.
“Huwag po tayong mag panic, ang importate po ay mag-ingat po tayong lahat,” Cua said as he assured to give updates to his provincemates.
The governor said he received a call informing him that the province just recorded its first Covid-19 positive case and he was informed that the patient is asymptomatic, nevertheless he already arranged for her confinement to the Southern Isabela Medical Center (SIMC).
“Nagsimula na po tayo sa contact tracing at ang lahat ng known contacts ay inabisuhan na mag-isolate, mag-ingat at mag-quarantine,” Gov. Cua said.
During his previous interviews, the governor has also assured that the provincial government has been preparing for such scenario considering the continuous arrival of LSIs and ROFs in the province.
In the report of the Department of Health through the Philippine Information Agency 2, the patient was known to be 24 years old female from Cabarroguis with no history of travel and contacts with COVID-19 cases.
Meanwhile, the Philippine National Police-Cabarroguis Police Station has assured the public that they will reach all those the patient’s “close contact” in their contact tracing activities with the Municipal Health Office.
“Our municipal LGU is currently having a conference to address the issue and we will give updates immediately after the meeting,” Cabarroguis Police Chief Alex Orbillo assured. (MDCT/TCB/PIA 2-Quirino)
