DAVAO DE ORO, Aug. 17 (PIA) - The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) will conduct the 2020 Census of Population and Housing on September 1-29, 2020.
During the State of the Province radio program via ZRadio 88.5FM, PSA Davao de Oro Abraham Gulay emphasized that Batas Pambansa Bilang 72 mandates the agency to conduct the census every ten years to provide data for planning and policy formulation, and other uses.
Gulay bared that the agency employed some 1,179 enumerators to conduct the census to all the households in the province of Davao de Oro.
“Agig pagpangandam, nagpahitabo ta ug regional, provincial, ug karon batches of municipal level trainings,” the agency provincial head said. (As preparation, we conducted regional, provincial, and batches of municipal level trainings.)
For this week, he added, the enumerators in four towns are undergoing workshop. The identified municipalities are Laak, Pantukan, Monkayo and Maragusan.
Gulay also stressed that the census is approved and authorized by the Inter Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases under Resolution No. 38 dated May 22, 2020
He said that they will comply with the minimum health protocols, like the wearing of face mask and face shields, observance of physical distancing, and regular hand washing.
“Tagaan nato sila og supplies, face masks, face shields, ug alcohol ang atong mga field personnel,” he said. (We will provide our field personnel with supplies, face masks, face shields, and alcohol.)
Gulay also said that the enumerators will wear uniforms including vests, and ID when conducting the census. (PIAX1, Michael Uy)
