Why are Filipinos known for their lack of reading comprehension?

Because according to most of them: "Well-mannered is better than well-educated" That's why most of the Filipinos never progress. It is because of the trash mindset.

CabSec Nograles witnesses virtual turnover of Yolanda housing units in Ormoc

ORMOC CITY, Aug. 6 (PIA) -- The Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) Yolanda chairman, Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles, has virtually witnessed on Thursday, August 6, the turnover of 1,419 completed permanent housing units to the city government of Ormoc.

The symbolic key of the housing units was formally accepted by Ormoc City Mayor Richard Gomez from Ms.  Marilyn Lauzon, district manager for Leyte of the National Housing Authority, in a simple ceremony.

In his virtual message, Nograles thanked the National Housing Authority for completing the project even in times of pandemic as he asked the beneficiaries to ensure that the house and lot given by the government is well taken cared of.

For his part, Ormoc City Mayor Richard Gomez thanked Secretary Nograles for his support and help as well as to the NHA for giving Ormoc the privilege to relocate some of the displaced victims of super typhoon that hit the country on November 8, 2013.

Gomez is also hoping that the National Housing Authority will build more housing units for illegal settlers in the future.

Estela Apuya, one of the beneficiaries and a mother of two children who previously lives near the sea also expressed her gratitude to the government for giving her family a safe home to live away from the dangers especially when typhoon occurs.

The land acquisition, land development and construction of the 1,419 housing units are funded by NHA with Edison Development & Construction/3R Metal Craft (JV) as contractor developer of the project.

The Bagong Pag-Asa Subdivision Phase 1 and Phase 2 are located in Brgy. Margen, Ormoc City.

It is a conventional bungalow row house with a modal size of 40 square meters and a floor area of 28.60 square meters with an estimated cost of P290,000 per house and lot.

Of the 54,508 proposed permanent housing units for Yolanda victims in Region 8, some 35,462 units were already constructed by NHA while 10,877 of which are still ongoing construction. (ldl/cba/PIA-8)

How To Make A Country Worship You

Bakit ba naeenganyo sila? Paniwalang paniwala sila. Basahin ang maikling kasagutan tungkol dito. It makes them feel special and different. It gives them a feeling of being better than others, of having their eyes opened to a 'truth' that others don't see. That's why some call non-believers 'sheeple.' I think it's similar to the feeling we get whenever we learn an obscure yet interesting piece of trivia. The thought of "No one else knows it!" I also think conspiracies appeal to the way humans think, especially now. A desire to search for patterns. There has to be reason and purpose for anything. But this is not right! I still blame the lack of the fundamental research skills that needs to be taught in school. I believe you get to have a full subject on your 4th year, but investigative skills and fact checking should be honed at a young age.

Ginusto Niyo 'Yan!

'Di kami nagkamali, we already expected those things to happen... You're making fun of our opinions pero 'di niyo magets na para 'yun sa ikabubuti ng lahat. Now, why so sudden bigla kayong nagreklamo? eh diba ginusto niyo 'yan, honestly dito samin nagsasabing nagsisisi sila sa naboto nila, for me hindi na kasalanan ng mga politiko na naloko nila kayo dahil there are so many evidences na. Pero all of you still chose to be fooled and deceived by them. But it's too late na eh nakaupo na sila sa pwesto na hindi nila deserve. Pero ito na lang... Let our response be, GINUSTO NIYO 'YAN!
