TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan, July 10 (PIA) - - The Population Information Center (PIC) in this province will soon be reactivated, the regional director of the Commission on Population and Development (PopCom) region 2 said.

Herita O. Macarubbo, population regional director, said the center that will be revitalized in partnership with the Provincial Learning Resource Center (PLRC) aims to provide timely, effective and efficient population-related information to varied researchers and users in the communities or in schools by ensuring availability of population-related materials in the center.
She said this is part of the agency’s efforts to further strengthen and intensify information drives on population-related campaigns.
“Once the agreement is signed and the PIC is fully set up, we will provide population-related materials and resources in order to provide timely, effective and efficient information to the public,” Macarubbo said.
Michael A. Pinto, provincial librarian, on his part, during the Population Information-Associated Centers (POPIN-AC) orientation, expressed his commitment to provide technical assistance in the establishment of an efficient and effective PIC in the province.
He also laid plans to institutionalize the center in Cagayan and to share some of their initiatives for the center.
PLRC is one of the active members of the POPIN-AC, an organization of 32 colleges, universities and local government unit operated libraries in Cagayan Valley region. (BME/OTB/PIA 2-Cagayan with reports from Diana Rose Maltizo)
