CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, July 14 - The Northern Mindanao Regional Development Council's (RDC)-10 Regional Gender and Development Committee (RGADC)-10 elects Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA-10) Regional Director Tarhata S, Mapandi and Dr. Chona R. Echavez, director of Research Institute for Mindanao Culture (RIMCU), Xavier University as chariperson and vice-chariperson, respectively.
Chairperson Mapandi and vice-chairperson Echavez took their oath during the RDC-10's virtual meeting on July 9.
In the same meeting, the terms of reference and the PCW-RGADC Partnership Agreement were endorsed by the committee for approval by the RDC-10.
RGADC is a special committee of the RDC in compliance with the Joint Memorandum Circular 2016-01 of the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) and the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA).
The RGADC-X will lead advocacies for mainstreaming GAD in the various development initiatives in Northern Mindanao and, at the same time, plays a major role in instituting GAD monitoring mechanisms as well as elevating GAD-related issues and concerns for RDC's action.
The reconstitution of the RDC-10's RGADC is seen to intensify GAD initiatives, programs, and activities geared towards more gender-responsive development in Northern Mindanao. (NEDA-10)
