Ngayong araw, nilulunsad namin ang #AngatBayanihan — ito ang ating VOLUNTEER PROGRAM sa Angat Buhay kung saan puwede kayong mag-ambag ng oras, talento, o kahit anong tulong para sa agarang pangangailangan ng ating mga kababayan. Dito, puwede kang magsagawa ng iba’t ibang klase ng paglapit at pagtulong sa kapwa, lalo na para doon sa mga nakilala natin sa ating mga pag-iikot sa iba’t ibang parte ng Pilipinas. Ilang halimbawa ng pagbabayanihan sa pamamagitan ng Angat Buhay ang agarang pagkilos ng volunteer groups sa Abra at Ilocos provinces na tumugon sa pangangailangan ng mga nasalanta ng lindol. Bago pa man iyan, nagsagawa rin ng relief operations ang ating magigiting na volunteers para sa apektado ng Banaue landslides. BACOLOD CITY, July 24 (PIA) –- Bacolod City, in its first and second tranches including the addition of the “leftouts”, received a total Social Amelioration Program (SAP) fund amounting to P1.3-billion.
This, according to Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia would pump-prime the local economy in the midst of the crisis due to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
“This is a tremendous help to our people at a time when our economy is feeling the effects of this health crisis and this will go a long, long way in helping needy families,” he said.
Leonardia, who is also the president of the League of Cities of the Philippines and sits in the Legislative Executive Development Advisory Council, thanked President Rodrigo Duterte who approved a second tranche release for Bacolod after the city had requested on April 28, 2020, for an extension of its Enhanced General Community Quarantine status, from April 30 to May 15, 2020.
The mayor also gave special credit to Malacañang Protocol Officer Jasmin Egan who helped justified to DSWD Secretary Rolando Joselito Bautista that Bacolod City needs this social amelioration assistance.
The SAP provided for under the Bayanihan to Heal As One Act, has allocated in its first tranche P6,000 each to 98,143 families while for the second tranche has listed 97,266 Bacoleños with 15,713 who were listed as “left out" or those who did not avail of the first tranche and will be receiving P12,000 each.
Leonardia added that with close to 113,000 family-beneficiaries in the city, majority of the more than half a million residents would benefit from the government's subsidy program. *(LTP/EAD-PIA6 Negros Occidental)
