Kalinga TESDA-PTC launches project 'KaLingA'

RIZAL, Kalinga, July 23 (PIA) - - The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority  Provincial Training Center (TESDA-PTC) launched project “KaLingA” (Kapwa Ko, Alay Lingkod)   at  barangays Babalag,  this municipality   amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
 
“KaLingA” is a poverty intervention project aimed to contribute in assuring food security during this pandemic for indigenous peoples and special clients. Major activities of the project are entrepreneurship training, livelihood component, aggrupation and association.

Barangay Babalag was selected as first recipient of the project with TESDA-PTC as chair of the Provincial Poverty Reduction, Livelihood and Employment Cluster (PRLEC) spearheading a convergence service delivery approach on responding to needs of vulnerable areas  in support to Executive  Order  No. 70 or the “whole of nation approach” to end local armed conflicts.  

Provincial TESDA Director Victor Brioso explained that the KaLingA project trains for free 100 farmers on organic farming vegetable, poultry, and small ruminants. The farmers will be trained on a five-course series from July 20 to August 31, 2020 thru the partnership of TESDA and PRLEC members with the local government unit (LGU) of Rizal.  Barangay Babalag provided the farm lot for the project.

Farmers who finish training on organic vegetables maybe entitled to Organic Production NCll, produce Concoctions and Extracts (Leading to Organic Agriculture Production NC II), raise organic chicken (Leading to organic Production NCll), raise organic chicken (Leading to Organic Production NCll), and Carpentry NCll.
 
Except for carpentry which is carried out through blended learning, the modality of the rest is through face-to-face learning.  
 
PSTC Administrator Artemio Jose Jr.  said they will add training on masonry for the fencing of the cropping lot. He said trainees are entitled to 150 per day allowance, P300 internet fee, P500 for personal protective equipment and one year insurance.

 Rizal Municipal Planning and Development Coordinator Maila Depalog expressed the LGU’s gratitude to PRLEC for selecting Babalag as first recipient of “KaLingA.”

The project serves as source of hope and encouragement for our people Depalog said adding that they hope that this will produce positive impact in the municipality to become resilient and self-reliant.
 
“We affirm our trust and cooperation to the government through PRLEC member-agencies in leading us to better lives and rest assured we will effectively carry our role in building a more peaceful and self-sustaining nation,” she said. (JDP/PAB-PIA CAR, Kalinga)

Sa kawalan nila ng pag-asa, hagisan mo ng tira tira. Hagisan mo ng latak ng sarili nilang pera. Hagisan mo ng katiting na awa. Hindi mo kailangan ayusin ang mga ng problema ng bansa. Kailangan mo lang palabasin na may ginagawa ka kahit wala.

Bakit Uto-Uto ang mga Pulahan?

Yung tipong habang tumitingin ka sa feed mo may nakita kang nag-share ng mga conspiracy theory. Bakit ba naeenganyo sila? Paniwalang paniwala sila. Basahin ang maikling kasagutan tungkol dito. It makes them feel special and different. It gives them a feeling of being better than others, of having their eyes opened to a 'truth' that others don't see. That's why some call non-believers 'sheeple.' I think it's similar to the feeling we get whenever we learn an obscure yet interesting piece of trivia. The thought of "No one else knows it!" I also think conspiracies appeal to the way humans think, especially now. A desire to search for patterns. There has to be reason and purpose for anything. But this is not right! I still blame the lack of the fundamental research skills that needs to be taught in school. I believe you get to have a full subject on your 4th year, but investigative skills and fact checking should be honed at a young age.
