Never Again! Never Forget!

Why does it matter?  Can't we move on? There is a thin line between moving forward and forgetting. The occurrence of collective amnesia did not happen only by mistake or overnight. Correctly remembering what happened during Martial Law is important, especially amidst ongoing conversations that attempt to revise history. While others have made attempts through social media platforms to cement the Martial Law's place in our cultural memory, we have a clear social responsibility to be accountable for our actions and be conscious of its impact on others and in our communities. Truths are learned to be remembered and not to be forgotten. There is nothing wrong with forgiving and moving forward, but what makes things hard to digest is when accountability is neglected. In that case, chances are, Filipinos will find it hard to value, defend, and promote our freedom. To be reminded to #NeverForget does not necessarily mean holding a grudge until our very last breath. JTF NCR supports urban agri program

PASIG CITY, July 1 (PIA) – To ensure food production in the metropolis amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the Joint Task Force National Capital Region (JTF NCR) of the Armed Forces of the Philippines joined hands in the urban farming/gardening and livestock farming. 

Dubbed as the “Ahon Lahat, Pagkaing Sapat Kontra COVID-19’ (ALPAS SA COVID-19), the program led by the Department of Agriculture promotes and supports food production in urban areas.

The program aims to ensure food availability in Metro Manila and other highly urbanized cities all over the country. Likewise, the program aims to provide an alternative source of livelihood to urban residents amidst the community quarantine.

JTF NCR provided their personnel with vegetable seedlings like ampalaya, eggplant, okra, as well garden tools. Likewise, JTF NCR’s chicken raising also supported alternative livelihood. (JTF NCR/PIA-NCR)

Bakit Uto-Uto ang mga Pulahan?

Yung tipong habang tumitingin ka sa feed mo may nakita kang nag-share ng mga conspiracy theory. Bakit ba naeenganyo sila? Paniwalang paniwala sila. Basahin ang maikling kasagutan tungkol dito. It makes them feel special and different. It gives them a feeling of being better than others, of having their eyes opened to a 'truth' that others don't see. That's why some call non-believers 'sheeple.' I think it's similar to the feeling we get whenever we learn an obscure yet interesting piece of trivia. The thought of "No one else knows it!" I also think conspiracies appeal to the way humans think, especially now. A desire to search for patterns. There has to be reason and purpose for anything. But this is not right! I still blame the lack of the fundamental research skills that needs to be taught in school. I believe you get to have a full subject on your 4th year, but investigative skills and fact checking should be honed at a young age.

'Di kami nagkamali, we already expected those things to happen... You're making fun of our opinions pero 'di niyo magets na para 'yun sa ikabubuti ng lahat.
