IGUIG, Cagayan, July 15 (PIA) –The local government unit here donated one printer each to all the elementary schools in the town in support to the Department of Education's (DepEd) implementation of alternative learning modalities amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Vice Mayor Judithas Trinidad said 13 sets of printers were recently awarded to the respective principals or schools heads of elementary schools here and one unit for the office of the district supervisor.
She said the provision of printers is in support to the “Brigada Eskwela” of the department which will be used for the reproduction of modules and learning activity sheets for schoolers.
Julita Banatao, principal of Ugac Elementary School said this is the essence of “Bayanihan” in Iguig.
Banatao added that for a small school with limited funds, the provision of a printer is of big help to the school administration.
Earlier, the DepEd announced that School Year 2020 – 2021 will officially start on August 24, 2020 but ‘no face-to-face classes’ will be observed in compliance to the guidelines of the COVID-19 Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases. (MDCT/GVB/PIA 2-Cagayan)
