Why are Filipinos known for their lack of reading comprehension?

Because according to most of them: "Well-mannered is better than well-educated" That's why most of the Filipinos never progress. It is because of the trash mindset.

Food handlers join food safety webinar hosted by DOST-10

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, July 16 (PIA) - The Department of Science and Technology (DOST)-10 recently conducted a Food Safety Awareness Webinar to Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) with 54 participants coming from different parts in Northern Mindanao.

The webinar's primary objective is to earn and strengthen consumer trust in Food Safety amidst the pandemic.

“It gives consumers the confidence to buy foods sold in the market when they know that the manufacturers are knowledgeable in Food Safety," said Ms. Stephanie Y. Ibarra, DOST-10 Food Safety Secretary, as she stressed the importance of the webinar in these current times.

The webinar tackled the importance of Food Safety, the hazards and risks involved in the absence of Food Safety, and an introduction to Good Manufacturing Practices. These key areas are vital both in encouraging MSMEs to maintain food safety amongst their processing areas and to supply them factual information towards manufacturing safe foods to the public.

More importantly, the webinar proves true that learning never stops even COVID-19 is still on the rise.

Lesli N. Uy, one of the speakers in the webinar and Science Research Specialist II of DOST-Bukidnon, said that, “through this webinar, we can say that learning never stopped even if there is a pandemic.”

The participants also expressed their gratitude to DOST-10 through the Google Meet chatbox. One, in particular, expressed his thankfulness saying “Winner na kami na mga MSMEs sa webinar for the knowledge and info from DOST-10. (We already consider ourselves as winners for the knowledge and information we gain from DOST-10 through this webinar)”.

DOST-10 will continue to uphold its mandate and provide S&T services to the public even amidst the current threat. For more upcoming webinars and online training, one may contact the agency through DOST 10 Facebook Page and website at (Julie Anne H. Baculio, DOST-10)

Bakit ba naeenganyo sila? Paniwalang paniwala sila. Basahin ang maikling kasagutan tungkol dito. It makes them feel special and different. It gives them a feeling of being better than others, of having their eyes opened to a 'truth' that others don't see. That's why some call non-believers 'sheeple.' I think it's similar to the feeling we get whenever we learn an obscure yet interesting piece of trivia. The thought of "No one else knows it!" I also think conspiracies appeal to the way humans think, especially now. A desire to search for patterns. There has to be reason and purpose for anything. But this is not right! I still blame the lack of the fundamental research skills that needs to be taught in school. I believe you get to have a full subject on your 4th year, but investigative skills and fact checking should be honed at a young age.

How To Make A Country Worship You
