Why are Filipinos known for their lack of reading comprehension?

Because according to most of them: "Well-mannered is better than well-educated" That's why most of the Filipinos never progress. It is because of the trash mindset.

DepEd-Baguio to pilot test new learning modalities in 4 schools

BAGUIO CITY, July 19 (PIA) -- The Department of Education – Schools Division Baguio City is set to pilot test the different distance learning modalities in  four schools in two barangays before the formal school opening of school year 2020-2021.

DepEd-Baguio Assistant Schools Division Superintendent Soraya Faculo said that the DepEd Baguio together with its stakeholders and partners will be pilot testing the learning modalities which the DepEd would be using during this time of COVID-19 pandemic when the regular face to face learning is not advised.

Faculo said the pilot test would involve at least 2,826 learners from the Guisad Valley National High School and Bonifacio Elementary School in Barangay Crescencia Village and Happy Hallow National High and Happy Hallow Elementary School in Happy Hallow Barangay. The DepEd’s Alternative Learning System is also included in the pilot testing.

DepEd-Baguio City Assistant Schools Division Superintendent Soraya Faculo said that they would be pilot testing the distance learning modalities in Barangays Crescencia Village and Happy Hallow to look into the challenges to be encountered once the classes open on August 24. RMC PIA-CAR

The schools were selected on geographic location to look into the challenges   learners in different areas in the city may encounter.

Faculo said that Crescencia Village is located near the central business district with better internet signal while Happy Hallow barangay is located several kilometers away from the central business district and has less internet connectivity.

Among the learning modalities to be tested are  the Modular Distance Learning which allows learners to use self-learning modules in print or digital format/electronic copy, whichever is applicable in the context of the learner, and other learning resources like Learner’s Materials, textbooks, activity sheets, study guides and other study materials; Online Distance Learning through the use of various technologies accessed through the internet and TV/Radio-Based Instruction using the cable TV and radio programs in the city.

The DepEd will also use blended learning that combines face-to-face with any or a mix of online distance learning, modular distance learning, and TV/Radio-based Instruction. Blended learning will enable the schools to limit face-to-face learning, ensure social distancing, and decrease the volume of people outside the home at any given time.

During the launching of the Opening of Classes Initiative and Support Services  last  July 16, DepEd-Baguio City Schools Division Superintendent Marie Carolyn Verano presented to the the different stakeholders and partners the learning modalities and the  Learning Continuity and Operational Plan which will be implemented in the city of Baguio for  school year 2020-2021.

In his message, Congressman Mark Go lauded the initiatives of the DepEd-Baguio in coming up with plans that would ensure continued education for the learners from elementary and high school despite the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

He said that the initiative which would be pilot tested in the different schools would help the city government, the DepEd and its partners determine the strengths and weaknesses which should be addressed as the distance learning starts on August 24, 2020.

In the said event,   Go, DepEd-Cordillera Regional Director May Eclar, Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong represented by Executive Assistant Marlene De Castro, Philippine Army 503rd Brigade Commander BGen. Henry Doyaoen led the commitment signing with the different stakeholders and partners as they pledge support to the opening of class initiative project.

The officials also led the ribbon cutting of the indigenous knowledge learning center at the DepEd – Baguio City. (JDP/RMC- PIA CAR)

How To Make A Country Worship You

Bakit ba naeenganyo sila? Paniwalang paniwala sila. Basahin ang maikling kasagutan tungkol dito. It makes them feel special and different. It gives them a feeling of being better than others, of having their eyes opened to a 'truth' that others don't see. That's why some call non-believers 'sheeple.' I think it's similar to the feeling we get whenever we learn an obscure yet interesting piece of trivia. The thought of "No one else knows it!" I also think conspiracies appeal to the way humans think, especially now. A desire to search for patterns. There has to be reason and purpose for anything. But this is not right! I still blame the lack of the fundamental research skills that needs to be taught in school. I believe you get to have a full subject on your 4th year, but investigative skills and fact checking should be honed at a young age.

Ginusto Niyo 'Yan!

'Di kami nagkamali, we already expected those things to happen... You're making fun of our opinions pero 'di niyo magets na para 'yun sa ikabubuti ng lahat. Now, why so sudden bigla kayong nagreklamo? eh diba ginusto niyo 'yan, honestly dito samin nagsasabing nagsisisi sila sa naboto nila, for me hindi na kasalanan ng mga politiko na naloko nila kayo dahil there are so many evidences na. Pero all of you still chose to be fooled and deceived by them. But it's too late na eh nakaupo na sila sa pwesto na hindi nila deserve. Pero ito na lang... Let our response be, GINUSTO NIYO 'YAN!
