Never Again! Never Forget!

Why does it matter?  Can't we move on? There is a thin line between moving forward and forgetting. The occurrence of collective amnesia did not happen only by mistake or overnight. Correctly remembering what happened during Martial Law is important, especially amidst ongoing conversations that attempt to revise history. While others have made attempts through social media platforms to cement the Martial Law's place in our cultural memory, we have a clear social responsibility to be accountable for our actions and be conscious of its impact on others and in our communities. Truths are learned to be remembered and not to be forgotten. There is nothing wrong with forgiving and moving forward, but what makes things hard to digest is when accountability is neglected. In that case, chances are, Filipinos will find it hard to value, defend, and promote our freedom. To be reminded to #NeverForget does not necessarily mean holding a grudge until our very last breath. It will

DA-10 supports PRLEC launch in Talakag town

TALAKAG, Bukidnon, July 3 (PIA) – In support of the regional launching of the poverty reduction, livelihood and employment programs pursued by the Proverty Reduction, Livelihood and Employment Cluster (PRLEC) of the Regional Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (RTF-ELCAC), the Department of Agriculture (DA)-10 has turned-over farm tractors, corn, rice and vegetable seeds as well as farming tools for the farmers here especially those in Barangay Lantud where the residents mostly belong to the Higaonon-Maranao tribe.

Chaired by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), the PRLEC is composed of the different line agencies  which responded to President Rodrigo Roa Duterte's Executive Order (EO) 70, instituting the whole-of-nation approach to end local communisrt armed conflict.

In her message, TESDA-10 Regional Director Tarhata Mapandi expressed her gratitude to the overwhelmening support extended by the member-agencies, as the event was attended by several regional directors and representatives of Senator Juan Miguel Zubiri, Bukidnon Governor Jose Maria R. Zubiri and the municipal officials of Talakag town.

The farmers received 70 bags of hybrid corn seeds worth P350 thousand, five bags of lowland inbreed rice seeds amounting to P7,950, assorted seeds worth P25 thousand, farm implements and others.

To further bolster the capabilities of Talakag’s IP community in farming, DA-10 also introduced its 4Ks (Kabuhayan, Kaunlaran, ng Kababayan Katutubo) with the turnover of garden tools ranging from sprinklers, light hoes, weeding bolos to organic fertilizers amounting to P37,750.

“The impact of this is, if they can grow, then they’ll have food, on top of personal consumption. They can also sell the excess. We strive to give them food security and income. And another thing, since these are all vegetables, it can also help improve their nutrition,” DA-10 Supervising Agriculturist Audy Maagad said. (VPSBautista/PIA10)

Bakit ba naeenganyo sila? Paniwalang paniwala sila. Basahin ang maikling kasagutan tungkol dito. It makes them feel special and different. It gives them a feeling of being better than others, of having their eyes opened to a 'truth' that others don't see. That's why some call non-believers 'sheeple.' I think it's similar to the feeling we get whenever we learn an obscure yet interesting piece of trivia. The thought of "No one else knows it!" I also think conspiracies appeal to the way humans think, especially now. A desire to search for patterns. There has to be reason and purpose for anything. But this is not right! I still blame the lack of the fundamental research skills that needs to be taught in school. I believe you get to have a full subject on your 4th year, but investigative skills and fact checking should be honed at a young age.

Ginusto Niyo 'Yan!

'Di kami nagkamali, we already expected those things to happen... You're making fun of our opinions pero 'di niyo magets na para 'yun sa ikabubuti ng lahat. Now, why so sudden bigla kayong nagreklamo? eh diba ginusto niyo 'yan, honestly dito samin nagsasabing nagsisisi sila sa naboto nila, for me hindi na kasalanan ng mga politiko na naloko nila kayo dahil there are so many evidences na. Pero all of you still chose to be fooled and deceived by them. But it's too late na eh nakaupo na sila sa pwesto na hindi nila deserve. Pero ito na lang... Let our response be, GINUSTO NIYO 'YAN!
