TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan, June 9 (PIA) - - Day Care pupils from this city will continue to learn amid Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic as the city government devised "Project eSKwela" in support to their education.
Councilor Karina Gauani said the project aims to provide learning modules and school supplies to day care pupils to continue their studies at home.
Based from the latest data of the City Social Welfare and Development Office, there are 2,518 day care pupils in the city who will be beneficiaries of the project.
She said there were already four barangays that have piloted the project to include Annafunan East, Cataggaman Nuevo, Linao East and Tanza.
"This is in partnership with the Sangguniang Kabataan of every barangay. We planned to implement this city wide," Gauani said.
She also said that Mayor Jefferson Soriano has pledged his support to the project and allocated P230,000 for the reproduction of the modules, purchase of school supplies and for the implementation of the program.
On the other hand, Gauani also said they will soon conduct "mobile school" in the city if face-to-face learning is not yet possible.
She stressed further that educating the young should always be a priority as they are investments for a brighter future of the country. (MDCT/OTB/PIA 2-Cagayan)
