PASIG CITY, June 11 (PIA) – The PLDT-SMART Foundation recently partnered with the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and local government units (LGU) in Metro Manila to provide free hot meals to communities under quarantine due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

PLDT-SMART spokesperson Ramon Isberto during the Laging Handa Public Briefing on Wednesday, said that the foundation has coordinated with LGUs in Metro Manila and also with the AFP as he cited the AFP’s Mobile Kitchen.
“Isa sa mga ginawa po namin is we put together food stocks na puwedeng lutuin at kasama po ng AFP Mobile Kitchen ay naghanda po kami ng pagkain dun sa mga areas that have been very badly affected,” said Isberto.
The AFP’s Mobile Kitchen under “Kapwa Ko, Sagot Ko” campaign which started rolling in April, provides free hot meals to disadvantaged individuals and families. AFP’s mobile kitchen visited several communities in Metro Manila and provided free hot meals prepared by culinary-trained soldiers.
Meanwhile aside from the free hot meals, the PLDT-SMART Foundation also provided grocery packs to families in NCR who are affected by the community quarantine. (PIA-NCR)
