TAGBILARAN CITY, June 16 (PIA) -- The Governor Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital (GCGMH) will be a coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) dedicated facility starting June 15.
In a public advisory released June 13, GCGMH said that this development came after the province of Bohol has already documented local transmission.
\GCGMH will only admit probable and suspected cases of COVID-19.
These include Moderate and Severe Acute Respiratory Illness (MARI & SARI) cases referred from Municipal Health Offices (MHOs), the Tagbilaran City Health Office, and private hospitals, the advisory said.
The hospital’s Emergency Department (ED) Main and Obstetric will only accept urgent and emergent referrals from the MHOs, Tagbilaran City Health Office, and private hospitals.
GCGMH advised that all other walk-in cases should seek consultation at their partner private hospitals in the vicinity.
Meanwhile, the Out-Patient Department (OPD) will be closed until further notice.
“Please reschedule your appointments with your attending physician and/or with OPD Reception Desk,” GCGMH advised.
However, the PMDT-TB DOTS Clinic and the HIV/AIDS Treatment Hub are excluded, based on the advisory.
GCGMH reiterated that they have committed to this role as the Province’s Apex Referral Center and as the chief implementor of the Department of Health’s programs and protocols for battling COVID-19.
The hospital asked the public to bear with them as they transition to this phase within the next two days.
“We shall be issuing bulletins as developments arise,” the statement added. (ecb/PIA7-Bohol)
