
ECHAGUE, Isabela, June 13 (PIA) –Echague town Mayor Francis Faustino Dy has called on his constituents to cooperate with the minimum health standards imposed by the local government after this town has recorded one new COVID-19 positive case on June 10.
As part of its strengthen policies, the local government here has reimposed its liquor ban policy, hence the sale, purchase, serving, and drinking alcohol beverages will be prohibited until further notice.
Dy has called on his constituents to cooperate and stay at home to prevent the spread of COVID-19 among EchagueΓ±os as contact tracing is ongoing by the concerned agencies.
“I am appealing to all EchagueΓ±os to cooperate and stay at home and always wear face masks to prevent the spread of COVID-19 especially that that there was one reported COVID-19 positive in the town,” Dy said on his Facebook live.
The Local Government Unit of Echague, the Department of the Interior and Local Government, the police and the local health officials are conducting contact tracing to the "close contacts" of the patient since Patient #36 arrived in her barangay.
Dy said 19 of the patient's close contact have tested negative for COVID-19. Her other close contacts will be subjected to test after seven days.
Patient #36 is a 30-year-old female, from Echague, Isabela and an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW). The patient came from Dubai last March 18 and subjected to 14-day quarantine in a facility in Caloocan City.
Strict quarantine checkpoints are implemented at the town's entry and exit points 24/7 to ensure that non- essential movements will be implemented to prevent the further spread of the virus. (MDCT/MGE/PIA 2- Isabela)
