ISABELA CITY, Basilan June 13 (PIA) – The Provincial Government of Basilan has already received a total of 490 individuals under the Balik-Probinsya Program based on the data of BAWAL COVID Task Force as of June 10, 2020.
BAWAL COVID Task Force recorded 430 Locally Stranded Individuals (LSIs) and 60 Returning Overseas Filipinos (ROFs) who arrived safely in Basilan. As part of the protocol established by the local task forces here, they were immediately picked-up by DRRM and health personnel at Isabela City wharf upon arrival and bring them to the provincial holding area for assessment.
Individuals who were tested negative in a rapid testing were endorsed to their respective LGUs for their 14-day quarantine period. Those tested positives were endorsed to the Ligtas COVID Facility.
Basilan COVID19 Update
Governor Jim H. Salliman, Head-Provincial Inter-agency Task Force confirmed recently the third Positive COVID19 case in Basilan Province and second in Lamitan City. The case is wife of the Bas002 patient and a resident of Brgy. Kulay-bato in Lamitan City.
With the confirmation of COVID19 positive in Lamitan City, Governor Salliman lauded the efforts of Lamitan City LGU especially in contact tracing.
“Gusto ko ring i-congratulate ang Lamitan City dahil talagang hindi nila pinabayaan lalung-lalo na sa contact tracing,” Gov. Salliman said.
Barangay Kulay-bato was also immediately placed under lockdown in order to minimize the possibility of infection in the said area.
Isabela City Update
Meanwhile, Isabela City remains ZERO confirmed COVID19 case as of this report. Isabela City Health Officer, Dr. Mohrein Ismael received from the DOH (RESU IX) on Saturday (June 6) the 5 Negative Confirmatory Test Results of suspected cases in the city, in which the two (2) of them were BJMP Personnel who tested positive in a rapid test conducted recently and two (2) were patients at the Isabela City Ligtas COVID Facility and the other one (1) is a patient under home quarantine.
As of June 10, Isabela City Anti-COVID Task Force recorded seven (7) suspected cases and all of them were swabbed, the 5 cases were those with negative confirmatory results and two results are still pending.
With this recent developments, all local government officers here continuously remind the public to observe minimum health standards like proper hygiene and hand washing, wearing of facemasks and observe physical and social distancing in order to avoid the possible spread of coronavirus diseases 2019 or the COVID19.
