7 Don'ts after a Meal

1. Don't smoke -Experiment from experts proves that smoking a cigarette after meal is comparable to smoking 10 cigarettes (chances of cancer is higher). 2. Don't eat fruits immediately -Immediately eating fruits after meals will cause stomach to be bloated with air. Therefore take fruit 1-2 hr after meal or 1hr before meal. 3. Don't drink tea -Because tea leaves contain a high content of acid. This substance will cause the Protein content in the food we consume to be hardened thus difficult to digest however Japanese Green tea is known as a drink which has many benefits for your health. 4. Don't loosen your belt - Loosening the belt after a meal will easily cause the intestine to be twisted & blocked. 5. Don't bathe -Bathing will cause the increase of blood flow to the hands, legs & body thus the amount of blood around the stomach will therefore decrease. This will weaken the digestive system in our stomach. 6. Don't walk about -People always say that af

A(H1N1) cases in the Philippines rise to 14

The Department of Health (DOH) announced Friday that the Philippines now has 14 confirmed cases of influenza A(H1N1) virus, but advised the public not to be alarmed even as it expects the number of cases to climb further. In a press conference, Health Secretary Francisco Duque III said the Philippines has 14 confirmed cases of H1N1, up from 10 on Thursday, plus 27 new suspected H1N1 cases. Duque said the 14patients with H1N1have "mild symptoms," and are responding positively to treatment. He said the Philippines still has no severe H1N1 case, and none of the patients has died. The DOH said two of the new cases -- a two-year-old girl and a 20-year-old male --had contact with a Taiwanese mother and her daughter at a wedding in Zambales last May 17. Like most cases globally, Duque said the 14 cases in the Philippines are a "mild form of influenza." Duque said that if he global consensus is that there is "no evidence of mutation" and that the virus is not viru

What is Ecstasy?

MDMA (3,4-methylenedioxymethamphetamine, also known as ecstasy) is a semisynthetic member of the amphetamine class of psychoactive drugs. It is considered unusual for its tendency to produce a sense of intimacy with others and diminished feelings of fear and anxiety. These effects have led some to suggest it might have therapeutic benefits to some individuals. Before it was made a controlled substance, MDMA was used to aid psychotherapy, often couples therapy, the results of which are poorly documented. Studies have also recently been initiated to examine the therapeutic potential of MDMA for post-traumatic stress disorder and anxiety associated with cancer. MDMA is criminalizedin most countries in the world under a UN agreement, and its possession, manufacture, or sale may result in criminal prosecution, although some limited exceptions exist for scientific and medical research. MDMA is one of the most widely used illicit drugs in the world and is taken in a variety of contexts far re

Smartmatic moves closer to bagging poll contract

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) Special Bids and Awards Committee (SBAC) has declared the offer of Smartmatic and Total Information Management Corp. (Smartmatic/TIM) consortium as the "single complying calculated bid" to automate the May 2010 polls, after its fiercest rival failed in the technical requirements. The joint venture of AMA Group of Companies and Election System and Software (AMA/ES&S) was found to be "non-compliant with the technical requirements" when it failed to submit its "system requirement specifications and system design specifications," which the SBAC said are "essential elements in automation." The AMA/ES&S also failed to comply with the requirement that its credit line and cash deposit certificate should come from a bank duly licensed by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP). A Doctor's Perversity

May 19, 2009 PRIVILEGE SPEECH OF SENATOR RAMON BONG REVILLA, JR. "A Doctor's Perversity" Good afternoon Mr. President. I rise this afternoon on a matter of personal privilege. Just last Thursday, a racial slur was directed against our people, particularly on our women by a prominent Hollywood actor. A few weeks back, a Hong Kong columnist labeled our country as a nation of servants because of our women domestics. Late last year, the Filipina was depicted as an ignorant maid with no dignity by a comedy show in England. Then there was also the "Desperate Housewives" incident, and many more. In all these instances when the dignity of our nation and especially our women have been trampled upon by foreigners, we have been quick to condemn them, seek an apology, and seek other means to punish the perpetrators. Ngayon, may pambababoy na naman sa ating kababaihan ang kumalat sa internet, na kagagawan ng isang Pilipino and this is the reason why I rise today. Mr. Preside

A taxi receipt is expected to have the following information: name of the taxi operator, business name of taxi operator, telephone number of taxi operator, taxi's plate number, date of the trip, total fare amount and name of taxi driver. The implementation of the issuance of taxi receipts was supposed to begin in January of this year. Operators, however, asked that it be moved to May so that they could allocate funds for this. (via)

In an interview on ANC's Dateline Philippines on Sunday, Health Secretary Francisco Duque said the second H1N1patient is a 50-year-old female from Chicago, United States. She arrived in the Philippines on May 20. She had no symptoms upon arrival at the airport but became symptomatic the next day. She immediately consulted health authorities, according to the health secretary. "She only has mild symptoms, which include fever and cough," he said. Her health condition has improved and she is already "recovering," Duque assured. The second H1N1 patient is still being closely monitored in an undisclosed health facility.
